NMB48: Ibiza Girl

Today I will talk about NMB48's song ''Ibiza Girl'' that was released as the leading track of their 2nd album Sekai no Chuushin wa Osaka ya ~Namba Jichiku~.

Ibiza Girl was originally scheduled to be their 10th single but the release was later turned into an album, with Ibiza Girl now being the title song of that album. Well, I guess we were all a bit surprised about that move, especially since the whole thing seemed a bit rushed.. Of course, another album is great, but in this case we only get a few new songs and the covers are just the Ibiza Girl ones. But yeah, ''Teppen Totande'' didn't really have that many new songs either and the DVD footage of the 2nd album is just fantastic. Every edition has the Ibiza Girl PV, the dance shot version, the Team song PV, the Team Stage, a part of the NMB Request Hour and even more specials! I do think it's a bit crazy to have that many video footage, haha. But I won't talk more about the album, perhaps at a later point (but since I don't think of buying it, I guess it won't happen..). Just one thing: I totally dig the Kamonegikkusu Remix!!

Now about ''Ibiza Girl''. Well, first the senbatsu: Just like SKE48, NMB48 has expanded their senbatsu to fit in the kennins and transfers. Though they have even 2 more places comppared to their Nagoya-based sister-group. With the 22 member line-up we see quite a few new faces. Yukirin is placed very high, she's on Nana's level, so 3rd/4th. This is understandable though, since Queen Yukirin is so popular and all. Then we have the two transfers Umechan and Reinyan. Wow, I'm so happy to see these two, especially Umechan!! They both seem get along with their new team members very well, that's nice to see. :) Churi and Anna are also both in the line-up (though Anna is last row) which means that every kennin and transfer is in this line up. (Lemon of course too) Then we have Kanako, who is returning to senbatsu and Yuuri who is here for the first time. I don't know Yuuri that well, but she was adorable in ''Yama he ikou'' and it's always nice to push new people..

Now onto the song. Ibiza Girl is our typical 48 group summer song. It's a very energetic and up-beat song, especially because of the ''Go Go Ibiza'' screams. I actually really like the chorus, even if it is a bit generic. But the ''Ibiza'' screams in the chorus are a bit annoying. Otherwise I would probably love this song but now it's an okay song to me.. It's not bad, but I'm not really listening to it and in my opinion it is the worst 48 group summer single this year (just my opinion!!!). But perhaps it will grow on me later, who knows.. ;)

So this video was definetely filled with fanservice (especially Yukirin, OMG) and the story with the gentelman guy who actually cheats with everyone isn't thaat original (well 48 group never did this before, so it's nice to see). What I really, really loved was the end when the girls were chasing the guy... in wedding dresses. So cool!!!! :D Sayanee & Milky were as usual rocking the video but everyone looked nice though Yuuri had a pretty creepy moment :'D. Well, the guy being together with the 15 year olds was a bid odd, too.. And I didin't really like him throughout the whole video. But yeah, funny video nevertheless! ^^

This release is definetely enjoyable, though it isn't their best song.
