This year is Morning Musume's 20th anniversary and because of that (and a commercial tie in) they recorded a different version of their debut single Morning Coffe - Morning Miso Shiru.
Today I'd like to review this song and the video! (my first review since August last year, I can't believe it..)
You know, hearing Morning Coffe feels very nostalgic, even though I didn't even know Morning Musume back when their debut single was released (I was 1 year old, hahaha). But I like the song a lot, because it has some harmonies and 1st gen is awesome. So how does Morning Musume '17 sing this song?
Well, instrumental wise, the song hasn't been changed that much and except for the Coffe being Miso Shiru now, lyrics also didn't change either. Basically it is the same song with the members of Morning Musume '17 singing it. And I think they did a really good job!! Of course they are more members and their voices sound different, but the feeling is the same. As for solos, there are not that many, which I actually like quite a lot. Girls having solos are Mizuki, Ayumi, Maachan, Duu and Sakura and they all sound quite good, especially Mizuki and Sakura. I'm also quite happy about MaaDuu solos and I think Duu's voice fits this song really good!! :)

This is a really beautiful video. It is so different from their usual videos and you can see them actually having fun togetehr and enjoying their time drinking Miso Soup (haha). But honestly, I apprechiate these kinds of videos a lot and I'm so happy this has been released, especially since no one was expecting it. It's alyo the first video with 13th gen and I love how everyone gets along and was greeting them.. they are so precious! And I love how much fun Oda-chan has been having through this video. And let's not forget about PonPon and our lovely MaaDuu.. Oh how I will miss this!!
But let's not think about it yet.. We still have a lot of time with them :)
I'm just really happy about this video, and I hope they release something of this kind again sometime. Even though I like cool dance songs as well, this is such a nice change and it feels like them getting back to their roots with their debut song. So yeah, this is some excellent song and video and I couldn't be happier :)
So that's it for today. I will listen to some Momusu songs, sleeping and then I'm looking forward to their Budokan concert!!
