CCM unveiled a project group made up of T-ara's Soyeon, The SeeYa's Yoojin, 5doll's Eunkyo and SPEED's Taewoon and Sungmin. Their first Album is called ''Tears of Mind'' with the title track ''Painkiller''.
Because all of them are their groups best vocalists and rappers, 'Painkiller' is a melancholic rap-ballad. It has a pretty sad and depressive, almost music box-like melody that blend very good with Soyeon's and Eunkyo's soft voices.
But this song is also very special, because it's about a break-up followed by a suicide. In the video, Jiyeon of T-ara acts as the girl that obviously broke up with her boyfriend and is now sad and takes painkillers. But her condition gets worse and as she starts to vomit blood she realizes that she can't turn back time and kills herself.
This video is actually one of the best videos of 2013, if not one if the best videos ever. Jiyeons acting here is just amazing. She protrays the sadness perfect and shows a crazy person that is obviously ill. We see how she laughs and cries at the same time which shows how depressed and hopeless she is. Suicide is always a difficult Topic. There are so many suicides every year, and South Korea is actually the country with the most of them! It's very sad to see the lifeless Jiyeon as her condition gets slowly worse. Suicide is no answer and it saddens me, that there are actually people, who think like Jiyeon and can't live anymore.
This is such a sad song and I hope you will take a few minutes and listen to it.
