Up Up Typhoon!

Today I'm going to talk about a Japanese indie Idol Group that's called: Up Up Girls.

I don't know that much about indie groups in Japan, but this Group is actually under UFP and all of them were Hello!Pro Eggs (because of that I recognize them a bit.. Yep, I watched a few eggs videos..) I don't know why they aren't under Hello!Project and why they didn't have their major debut yet.. It seems like they've been around for quite a long time already....

 

Anyways, I came across them (apart from the UFP thing) because of their Harlem Shake video. I don't really like Harlem Shake, but their video was so funny and I think it's pretty cool, that they did it. They did more of these videos, but I think the first one is the best.

Now, together with their new single, they released their FIRST MV EVER.

Oh yes, right.. they didn't release an MV before.. I don't really know why, but I'm happy they did now..

 

 

The title of the song is ''Up Up Typhoon'' (or more excactly, the single is called ''Summer Beam/ Up Up Typhoon'').

And wow, I didn't listen to such an upbeat song in a very long time. This song is just pure fun and it's something pretty 'Japanese'. It's so crazy, but it's still cute and absolute adorable.. I love it sooo much and it really lightens up my mood everytime I listen to it (especially since school started and I have to study again..). It starts with an kinda old Japanese feeling but turns into an Idol-Pop song very fast. But this Enka-beginning is a realy nice change from all the other normal J-Pop songs. There are little instrumental parts through the whole song that are typical Japanese (especially in the beginning and the end). From what I could hear, the girls' voices are also pretty good. There wasn't a voice that totally annoyed me, and together they sound also great. But I have to say, that the yellow one totally deserved her many lines ( it weren't thaaat much more than the others).

Wow, that was interesting..
This video was simple yet it was way more interesting than many other videos, and I don't even know the members. I really enjoyed their funny group shots and could see that they really are a GROUP not just a bunch of girls thrown together (okay, they are but they know each other for suuuch a long time so I guess they are friends?). It's also pretty amazing that the video wasn't shot inside a box or any building.. No, they went freaking outside. Nature everywhere!!!
That's not all, they look all so happy and their dance is really funny and energetic. I think it's a perfect, catchy summer song and I will definetely listen to it and watch the video more often!
