Today I will talk about the song ''Reborn'' by AKB48's Team Surprise, that was included in the theater edition of their single Kibouteki Refrain. It's a bit late, but I still want to talk about it!
Actually, almost everything about this song was decided by the fans! Back in summer 2014 they could decide between some melodies as the first step and then many steps followed until the creation of this song. The cover was also chosen by fans, and I have to say that I really, really like it! Sadly it was only included in the theater edition of Kibouteki Refrain, and it wasn't really a cover. Anyways, it's pretty cool if you ask me. About the line-up, well everyone of the members was never included in a senbatsu before (Janken doesn't count here)! I think it's really, really nice to give those girls a chance, and it's unbelievable how many of the mid-gens were never included in a senbatsu. One of the best things in my opinion is the the center. 10th gen member and original ace of that gen Izuta Rina is center of this song!!! That's so cool, since she isn't really one of the most pushed and/ or popular girls. I don't really know her that well, but she seems like a nice girl and I don't think its a bad thing that she isn't the most typical Idol looks-wise. From what I know, she's funny and ambitious and always smiling, which is really nice.
But lets take about the song now. Reborn is a very typical up-beat and happy AKB48 song. The chorus is catchy and the Reborn, Reborn, Reborn parts are cool. This isn't one of my favourite AKB48 songs, but it's still a lot of fun to listen to.
Just like the other songs from KR, Reborn also got its music video to be included on AKB48's newest album, which is why I am now able to talk about it.
The video start with a manga magazine that is called Ribon (Reborn). xD

This was a really fun video, whith a sweet storyline. Izuta Rina is really good at drawing Mangas, but she threw her pictures away and looked really sad in the beginning. But then her guardian angel Ami appeared and wanted to make her smile. After that, Rina decided to draw again and her friends helped her. Also, I guess she wanted to have her Manga story in the magazine and in the end she was able to achieve this. That's really nice and I like how everyone supported her. In between the story we of course also have the dance shot and solo shots. It's awesome how much fun they were all having. I love them energetic and happy Idols. :D Rina was shining really bright, and I'm really happy that she got the chance to be the center for this!
All in all, I am positively surprised by this Team Surprise (hah!). No, but seriously, the whole thing is awesome and I hope they will do something like this again. Let the fans chose again and give some background members more opportunities! :3
