AKB48 - Green Flash

Today I will talk about AKB48's 39th single ''Green Flash'' that was released on March 4th.

I think the covers are okay. They aren't really that special, but they do look nice. 

And I think it's funny how Jurina is standing out so much because of her face and not having any bangs.

AKB48 released their first single of 2015 and like always this is a Sakura single, so the lyrics are a bit deeper (looking forward and stuff). The line-up isn't really that surprising (though, I think it's odd that they are still leaving Milky out). The biggest surprise this time are the centers. It's again a double center and the two girls are Kojima Haruna and Kashiwagi Yuki. Wait what? Kashiwagi Yuki? YUKIRIN? YES, this is soooo cool!! I wanted her to get a center since forerver, so of course I'm really happy that she finally got one. Well, she is sharing is with Nyan (who had Heart Ereki so yeah), but I do like that combi, so I'm fine with it. Just, aaaahh, Yukirin. *-* The 'younger' Generation is a bit pushed at the back of the line-up, which is also really interesting.

About the song, AKB48 actually tried something different with Green Flash. The song has an r'n'b sound, which isn't typical for the group. It's a rather slow and beautiful song. Interestingly, there's also a rap part in the middle. It's a rather soft rap, and I have to say that I like it.^^

The whole song is nice!

But let's talk about the video now:

The PV starts with Paruru, who is sitting in a Café all by herself.

And she starts crying. No, Paruru. What happened? :o

Jurina is also crying.. ._.

But she doesn't seem so happy either.

It's Annin. And wow, her crying looks pretty realistic!

But they aren't able to see a real Green Flash. Well, it's still beautiful. *-*

First off, let me tell you that I think this is a really beautiful PV with nice shots of the main members. I also kind of like the 'story' of them being all sad at first and thhen turning happy after wtaching the sun set on the beach. Okay, it isn't a long story or anything, but it's nice.
What I do find a pretty odd, is that only 8 out of the members are part of this story. They are Shimazaki Haruka, Matsui Jurina, Miyawaki Sakura, Kawaei Rina, Kizaki Yuria, Kojima Mako, Ikoma Rina and Iriyama Anna. As you can see, those are mostly the younger/ new generation girls. The rest of the members, the older girls, only have two solo shots each and are on a roof in green clothes. The two centers Haruna and Yuki are part of that group, so they both only get like 5 seconds of screen time. Like, I don't get this. Sure, they want to promote the younger girls, they are always doing this, but almost not showing the centers AT ALL in the video??? This is the very first time Yukirin is a center and she only gets two solo shots in the video? Why didn't they show the older girls just a bit more?? -.-'

I mean, it's still a nice video and I do enjoy it, but uuugh, the whole center thing is just so odd. *sigh*
I love the song, and I'm happy that NyanYuki and all the older girls are at least getting all the screentime in performances (the younger girls are more in the back here^^).
