SKE48 - Sekai ga naiteru nara

Today I will talk about SKE48's song ''Sekai ga naiteru nara'', which is included in AKB48's single Green Flash Type S.

I guess since we didn't get a Janken single last year, it was decided to include sister groups songs in this release. Which is okay, but it doesn't seem fair to all the AKB48 members, who aren't included here (Kibouteki Refrain was so much better for them).

Anyways, the line-up of SKE's song is nice. We don't have any kennins except for Sae (who should be SKE only anyways) and Ego-chan is included. Well, Masana isn't but that's probably for the best, we know how much she loves Ego-chan. XD (Just kidding, she should be included!!)

Sekai ga naiteru nara is a rather depressive and dark song. But it isn't actually really slow or something, it's pretty fast which makes the whole thing a lot more dramatic. There is also a talking part of Jurina and Rena, which makes the whole song a lot more special in my opinion. The lyrics are also very deep and somehow very sad and criticizing. I especially like this part of the chorus:

I will cry too

I can't pretend

That nothing has happened

The 'I' won't pretend to look away if something bad happens. But in the rest of the song we can hear that there are a lot of people, who are pretending that nothing happens, who don't care for anything else, only for themselves. I always liked Aki-p's lyrics and especially this song shows how great he is as a writer. 

I have to say that I really like this song. I do love the deeper songs of the 48 groups a lot and this is no exception.

But let's take a look at the video now. This is actually a pretty complicated video, but I will try to explain it:

Of course the video starts with the group name, because we don't know who the artist is. xP

Wow, this already looks dark and a bit creepy. It looks like a prison or something.

Seems like a fun PV? (NOT!!)

So now something feels off: we have the police here! So something happened?

And the creepy hallway is back. We can see how the door at the end is opening.

And someone is walking barefoot!

The door with the number 1. Now this is creepy.

A happy Jurina. The guy doesn't look happy at all though.

Rena is taking a photo?

Oh.. OH!!! Jurina is holding a needle. So SHE killed him.. with that? :o

An interrogation!

And a creepy Rena.

From far away this looks nice.

But if we look at the (not so lively) face of the man and Jurina with the needle, it does look creepy.

Here we have Rena, who looks pretty calm.

So the guy from the photo is a teacher? A really popluar teacher, all the girls like him.

Non at the interrogation. So the police man is questioning them all to find out who killed the teacher?

Oooh, she gave him a letter..

Oh, so Rena is in some kind of hospital?

And here we have Ryouhas scene again. But Rena is watching them. Is she jealous?

They are all looking so innocent.

There are different doors with the numbers. We could already see the number 1 before and here is the number 16.

And someone with the needle is going from 16 to 1.

Here we can see Rena in the same position as Nao and Aya were before.

Uuuh, Jurina seems to be pretty aggressive.

J: I'M NOT AGGRESSIVE!

Rena is still creepying on the teacher.

She even follows him out of the school.

Rena in the same situation Ryhoha and Ami were before, but he refused to take her letter.
Now you realise that all the other girls were actually RENA!!!

Rena sees that the teacher already has a girlfriend.

Rena: NO! He can't do this!

Here we have the person in the hallway again.

And outside everyone is now standing behind Rena, showing that they are all ONE person!
Rena has different personalities.

In the hallway we can see numbers on the doors. We already saw number 16 and number one before, so we know that there are 16 doors. This is all happening in Renas head and those are her different personalities behind the doors.

The creepy person is Jurina!! She came from the number 16 room.

And Rena is in her room looking really scared. She is the number 1 by the way.

Someone is coming from behind.

Jurina is passing another room.

Jurina is close to Rena now.

And in the hallway, Jurina also reaches Rena's door.

She wants to go inside, she wants to take over Rena!

Here is the talking part. Jurina tries to persuade Rena.

Rena is scared..

Now this is creepy.. Jurina with the needle..
J: LET ME IN! KILL HIM!

Rena doesn't want to.

Flashbacks to the scene where Rena finds out that her big love has a girlfriend.

Becaue of this, Rena is weak and Jurina is able to some this far.

Jurina gives the needle to Rena..

This shows again that all the girls in the videos are one person (we had all the number before and now only 1 number is left).

A... doctor?? He looks familiar.

The detective..

... is actually a doctor. He's Renas doctor!!

This makes it clear again.

Rena is his patient.

She is ill.

Here we can see, that only Rena is with the teacher in this scene. She killed him.

Renas persoalities. As you can see, here it is Jurina who holds the syringe. Which shows again that she is the evil personality, she is Rena now.

Only Rena!

The dective finds out all of this now.

And he wants to help Rena.

But Rena has an inner conflict. Here she finds out that Jurina has taken over..

...so Rena doesn't exist anymore and disappears.

Some flashbacks again.

Sekai ga naiteru nara

This looks like a real movie now.

As you could see, this is a more complicated video with a very interesting story line. Here is the plot again in short:

Rena is ill and has a dissociative identity disorder (DID), keeping a lot of different personalities inside of her. Those personalities are played by the members in the video and they all act very differently. They are all in love with the teacher, but somehow Rena is jealous of her different personalities (which is the only part I don't really get, but I guess he doesn't se ethe REAL Rena?). Rena's personalities are all locked away in rooms in her mind and they have numbers. Those numbers appear a lot and there's one scene where is is always changing between 1 and 16. 1 is of course Rena, since she is the main personality. But 16 is Jurina, the 'evil' personality, who tries to take over Rena. Those two are fighting for the main place of identity. When Rena finds out that the person she loves (the teacher) already has a girlfriend, Jurina suceeds in taken her over. She is able to break into Rena's room in the hallway and gives her the needle. With that Rena then kills the teacher, but in the picture with all her personalities you can see that it's actually Jurina, who is killing him. Then we also have the male person, who at first seems to be a detective to find out who killed the teacher. But later we find out that he is actually Rena's doctor who tries to help her (after she committed the murder) and is confused because of her different personalities. In the end Rena disappears, since she realised, that Jurina has taken over. Instead of Rena, Jurina is the strongest personality now, so Rena doesn't exists anymore.

Waah, I hope you are able to understand what I wrote. It does (kind of) make sense to me and I think it is a very interesting story. iI's nice to have a PV that you can think about ad that you can interpret. So I think is VERY well made. The members did a nice job, especially Rena, who is just a great actress (especially for roles like this). Jurina was also really creepy and I loved Churi's short creepy scene. xD
I like this soooooooo much, and I would LOVE to see an actual movie of this!!
Please make it happen!!

So yeah, I'm impressed by this song and video. Especially the PV, since is probably one of their best videos everr! Definetely my favourite coupling of Gree flash and I'm happy to recieve my copy with this song soon. :D
