As my first review of the year, I will talk about the song ''Utaitai'', which is included in the Type C of AKB48's single Kibouteki Refrain.
The line-up group of this time is called ''Katarea-gumi'' and is made up of 26 girls, who mostly belong to the more underrated by management group. Center is Shibata Aya, who's also the only one out of the Sousenkyo senbatsu, who isn't in senbatsu for this single's A-side line-up (hdgfjrhfj). But yeah, at least she gets to center a B-side again. :'D Included are rather big names such as Kitahara Rie, Yamada Nana, Matsumura Kaori and Takayanagi Akane, but also some younger members like Iwata Karen, Kimoto Kanon and Aoi. Interestingly, a lot of the members have a very nice voice, such as Mocchi and Ume-chan and not to forget Wasamin.
Perfectly fitting for them we get a musical influenced, voice-heavy song with Utaitai. I really like how it starts all slow with an Aya solo (Aya solo!!!!!!) and then more and more members join. The second verse starts with a Mocchi solo line and follows with a duet of her and Ume-chan. This is absolutely beautiful, I especially really love Mocchi's voice. The chorus is also very nice and I love how it gets pretty dramatic in the later parts. The instrumentals are also pretty interesting, and as a whole I'm really happy about this song.

I still wonder why Non is included here and not in the pushed-members-song. Well..

Okay, I know I made a lot of fun about it, but this is actually a very dramatic and beautiful video. I don't understand everything, but the members are hopeless in the beginning and it seems like a very important door is closed, The members also don't really get along that well, until Aya wants them to sing a song together. This song gives them hope and in the end, Aya finds the door open.
I think this could very well be interpreted to be the door of their dreams and hopes. As I already mentioned, most of these members aren't favoured by management that much, so the door is already or still closed for them. But as they put all their hard work into the song, the door is opened in the end. Well, it seems to be only for Aya, who IS the highest ranking members of them after all. But just like her, all the members will find an open door in the future, but some perhaps outside of the 48group.
I think they worked pretty well with the many members and showed everyone a few times. And the whole setting as a stage play was also very nice and added to the Musical feeling of the song. Some of the clothes were a bit odd (Airin's trousers o.o), but I think the style was interesting.
This has been a very nice release, and something a bit more different from AKB's usual stuff. But I'm happy that they are experimenting a bit with such a nice turn-out. ^^
