Teppen Tottande!

Last week my new package finally arrived after almost 2 months. It included the NMB48 album "Teppen Tottande". I liked all NMB singles until now and many of their b-sides, so I decided to purchase the album and I took type N, because it includes Sayanee's solo song "Jungle Gym". I will now review the album in three catogeries: the tracklist, the DVD extras and the package.

Tracklist

01. Teppen Tottande
The opening track that has the same name as the album. It's a cool up-beat track that includes typical Osaka-ish lyrics and melodies. There is a feeling of old Japan in this song - something that fits NMB pretty well. All in all a really good opening song.
9/10

02. Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shoujo
This is their first single but you wouldn't guess that from first hearing. It has a huge Japanese vibe and introduces us NMB as the wild group they are.
9.5/10

03. Oh My God
It's their second single and actually the first more "Idol-like" song on this album. This could actually be a song of any other 48 group and doesn't show NMB's unique character at all. Still it's not that bad, just too generetic.
5.4/10

04. Junjou U-19
3rd single and a bad-ass song again. This time not influenced by Japan that much, but more like a sexy circus song. It's amazing how they can portray the sexy concept so cool and powerful and it's definetely their best single to date.
9.8/10

05. Nagichii
4th single and the happy summer single. It's again a typical Idol song, but this time it has a bit more variety. The instrumentals and the vocals are actually better than in ''Oh my God'' and the whole thing is easier to listen to.
7,5/10

06. Virginity
5th single and we're back with a bad-ass song. This time with an epic saxophone that points out even more the somehow sexual meaning of the song. The chorus is also amazing. Just the verses aren't that great. But all in all it is a pretty good song
9.1/10

07. Kitagawa Kenji
6th single and a cute song again. But this time they have one of the catchiest and cutest songs ever!! The chorus is pure sugar and just so good. This song will stuck in your head forever. Sadly the verses again can't catch up with the chorus, but it's still very good.
9.4/10

08. Ha!
Coupling song on AKB48's 29th single and again a bad-ass song with rock guitars etc. It again shows how strong NMB is as a group. They actually got the best song on the whole AKB single (even though SKE's is also epic).
9/10

09. 12/31
The title track of this album where they sing about their feelings about not attending the Kouhaku last year. It's a beautiful ballad and actually nice to listen to, but not that amazing.
7.8/10

10. Lily
The new Team N song and also a ballad. It somehow sounds really depressive and makes you think. You can hear the emotions of the singers and it shows that Team N has some really good voices.
9.6/10

11. Jungle Gym
Sayanee's solo song from their 3rd single. Just WOW. Sayanee really has one of the most beautiful voices of all the 48 group members. Her voice is deeper and loaded with more emotion than our other average Idol. And this song features all these things. It's a ballad full of emotions. The only bad thing is, that it's the third slow song in a row on this album, so it gets a bit boring. But the song alone is PERFECT!
10/10

12. Hoshokushatachi yo
It starts as a slow song again but then features more energetic trumpets. The chorus sounds pretty serious and powerful, so we can say it's an edgy song. I love it so much and this is actually a song I want to listen to more, so I replay it more often.
10/10

13. NMB48
Finally we are back to a bad-ass song, that isn't even an original NMB48 song. It's a remake of AKB48's song ''AKB48'' and is about all the special things of Namba. The sound really fits the image of NMB with its rockish feeling and the guitars in the beginning. You couldn't make a song that fits NMB48 better.
10/10

14. Seishun no lap time
Here we have an energetic cute song. After the amazing songs before it's a bit of a let down, but it's still a catchy song and one of their first original songs they ever had. It's always special when they perform it live.
8.9/10

15. Boku wa matteru
A nice song to end the album. It's not the best ballad of this album, but the simple melody and all their voices together create a soft atmosphere.
8,5/10

The quality of NMB48's songs is really, really good. All in all I give them 9.5/10 from my rating. I enjoy this tracklist very, very, very much and every song is special in its own way. With only 4 generetic cute songs, 6 impressive bad-ass songs and 5 beautiful ballads it's a totally balanced album. Even though we only have 3 new songs on this type, the other songs are epic singles and amazing coupling songs on their theater editions, so its alright. I'm just not quite happy with the order of the songs. It makes sense to put all the singles together but I would have been more happy if they had put more bad-ass songs or cute songs together and a bad-ass song between all these ballads. But this is a pretty good alternative if you like many NMB48 songs but can't buy all of their singles.

DVD extras
So on the DVD are two special extras. One is the PV for 12/31. Because it's a sad song, the video features the members crying and looking all sad. The setting and the dance with the candles is actually pretty beautiful. I just think they are a bit overdoing it with the crying. I can understand they are sad about not attending Kouhaku, but it's not the end of the world and they will definetely go there this year.

The other extra is the concert ~Minasan, chapu chapu shimasho~ from August 21, 2012.
NMB48's concerts are really amazing. Everyone performs with 200%, sweats like crazy and does that with so many emotions. It's also great that Jo was still in the group back than. The tracklist of the concert is just awesome.

The package

This is also really good:

We have the amazing cover, a lyric booklet with every face on it, a concert/ calendar poster and more..
Here's my photo:

Sayakaaaa :D
But now I feel soo mainstream:

Getting all them aces.. yeay (kinda)

This gets 9/10.

All in all I give this 9.4 out of my Idol album rating. It is such a good album and it totally deserved its fame.. Now come on, and release such an amazing SKE48 album!!!
Reviewing an album is kinda fun.. I think i will do this again. :)
